BUCKLEY is located in Flintshire in North-East Wales. The town is the 20th largest locality in Wales, featuring an economic catchment of 21,700 people, double the population growth of the rest of Flintshire, high levels of economically active people and low levels of deprivation.

The town sits at the gateway to North Wales close to the junction of the A494 and A55 North Wales Expressway, offering good connections towards Wrexham and the Welsh Borders, Cheshire West and Chester, Merseyside, Rhyl, Prestatyn and the North Wales Coast.

DEVELOPMENT CONTEXT

Discount supermarket Aldi opened a 1,254 sq ft store in the Town Centre in December 2015 and acts as a key retail anchor within Buckley.

The Flintshire Local Development Plan is currently being developed by the County Council. This document establishes principles for the development of housing, retail, employment and other uses. An Options consultation took place in October 2016, all options included significant growth in Buckley.
